Hanging out

Post Number 61. The natives are restless and seem to have spaced off, though the excitement of writing a blog has not diminished, the will to stay up to write has left... for now. Currently I only write on the weekends or while at work, bored to death. I'm sorry about that... but during my final semester of my senior year, there is little to be done.
Last night I went out with a friend to On the Border, I had an absolutely fabulous time! We hung out for like half an hour after we got the checks (there were no new customers coming in, so I didn't feel bad about not leaving.) It's really amazing how much fun you can have with a straw, a straw wrapper, the paper napin ring holder thingie, the pen the waitress left on the table, my doggie bagged burrito, and some creativity. I did eventually go grab a kid's menu which came with crayons---then everything got colored. It was really fun. I had a great time hanging out, I haven't gotten to hang out with him in a while since I thought he had moved to Japan as previously planned, but nope. He says he's moving in April- which makes me sad. Japan's too far away to visit, even though he says I can. Oh well. I'm going to enjoy hanging out with him while I can.

Shows!

I don't mind working, I don't mind working hard. I do mind being expected to work when I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to be doing. (this works on many levels of my life currently). It works with school, work, living situation.... so far the only one I somewhat know what's going on with is with my family. Ah well.
So last night ended the non-stop marathon that was last week. Here are some great pictures from Friday night:

Then last night we performed at the Roving Imp: Here's some pics from there:

Finally, for your viewing pleasure I have a video from back stage before the Bonner Springs show:

(If your interested, scroll down a bit, I'm finally going to add the videos for previous blogs that I have promised)

Reflections

I'm sitting at the receptionist desk at work, and my fingers have long since gone numb from the cold. Why can't I have a heater up here? Oh yeah, because others in the past have used the heater to accidently melt the faceplate off of the computer tower. Whoops. (no it was not me). So I'm sitting here, very antsy because, well probably because I have a show tonight. Let's all take a moment and recall how I had to pop tums like candy before my first show back in December. The Feb 7, show was okay because I had a handle on it. But this show is like the first one again because I have lines to memorize and places to screw up. I know that with thoughts like this I'm only going to end up psyching myself out, but there it is.

Good News: My parents sold the house in Basehor, and the one at the Lake
~This means they will now be moving to Colorado

Bad News: My roommates are insane and are driving me up the fuckin' wall!
~This means I'm looking for a place to live as far away from them as I can get.

Good News: I went to US Toys yesterday and got myself a globe/beach ball.
~This means that now I can point to where I've been and bump, set, spike it just the way I like it!

Bad News: I have found out that there are no cut and dry rules that determine what makes it "jusifiable" homicide.
~This means that my roommates will live another day... maybe. ;)

Snow Day & Hype 7

So Tuesday we had Hype 7 practice on the Plaza. It was awesome, but coming home was not so much. Joe and I carpooled with Bryan. It's not that Bryan didn't do a good jobr driving, it's that it was snowing so heavily that we had to drive very carefully at 40mph. Or there abouts. Once we got in Lawrence we went and got liquer, a pizza and a quick stop by Hy-Vee so I could get some saline solution and it was off to Bryan and Joe's. We hung out, ate pizza, drank and got asked weird questions by a drunken Joe.
I slept over and when we woke up I talked the boys into going out in the massive amount of snow to play. We built a horizonal snowman (wasn't good packing snow), wrote our names in the snow (with our fingers), had a snowball fight, and I made a snow angel (and as soon as I can figure out how to get the pictures off of my phone I'm going to be posting them. ) Then we went to my place so I could change and we went to Target to buy some sleds. We ate lunch at the Target Food Court (classy) and saw Hans as he checked out (good news, Hans and Jen are almost ready to buy their place, they were getting final t crossed that day). Then Bryan, Joe, and I headed out for campus- land o'hills. We started out kinda slow and I found that some of the hills weren't so good. Mostly because of the eight inches of snow we had gotten, when we would attempt to sled we would simply build up too much snow and it was more like play acting like a snowplow.
Well I was pretty tired after our sledding expedition and it wasn't long before I was nodding off. So I got Joe to take me home.

Wednesday was a good day, couple of my teachers had the flu (it's going around KU like crazy) so I had a couple of cancelled classes. We had our show last night. We had A great crowd. Really ONEderful and really enthusastic. Hoping for more people at the Westport Show.

Food Buyout?

You may have been wondering about Joe's letter. Well here are the originals from my roommate who shall remain... not so unknown.

*
Sally:Hey Tiff,
Jenny and I noticed that some of the freezer/fridge food's been in there for quite a wile, and were wondering -- if there's slim chance you'll consume it anytime soon, could one of us buy it from you?? We just hate to see it go to waste. that's all... let me or Jenny know if you're interested in price negotiations!
   Sally
*
Tiffany: No I plan on eating it.
*
Sally: Ok, well just fyi, the large bag of salad in the bottom of the fridge is expiring today or else it did yesterday....
*
Tiffany: Leave it

Is this creepy to anyone else? Because it seems beyond weird to me.

Dedicated to Joe- My friend who gets it.

Hey Tiff,
I couldn't help but notice that you do this really strange thing, where you store food in a freezer, okay, this is a new one to me, but I guess to each their own. Anyway, I was wondering if I might be able to buy some of the food in your freezer. I was really hungry, and instead of going to a store, or even a restaurant, I wondering if I could just buy food from you that is in your freezer. I am really hungry, so I am contacting you the quickest way I know how, over the Internet. Also, I was wondering if I could rent one of your glasses in the cabinet, see, I like to consume fluids with my meals, and I saw you had some glasses that you weren't using at this very minute, so it's pretty clear you would want to rent them. I was thinking I would rent the glass for about 3 hours, in case I get thirsty again after I eat. Do you have an hourly rate schedule for your glasses? Oh, I'll probably want to rent some silverware too, you know to eat the food, I just figure if it's in the drawer, and your not using it, it too is probably for rent. Perhaps we can work out a discount since I will be renting both a glass and silverware?

Now that I think about it, I'm going to want to brush my teeth after I eat, since you are not using your tooth brush right now, can I rent that too. I'll only need it for like 3 minutes, can I rent by the minute? I'll also need to buy about a table spoon of toothpaste. Hey, is that a roll of toilet paper over there? It's just sitting there, like that food in your freezer, aren't you going to use it? Since you aren't using it, I guess that means it's for sale, right? I mean, why else would you keep something in the house that you are not using this very minute? Geeze Tiff, you are making it so difficult, all this stuff you keep around, but don't use right away. Well, can I buy, like, I don't know, 30 squares of toilet paper? Do you sell by the square, or by the foot? You know what, just bill me for 30 squares of toilet paper, 8 swipes of roll-on deodorant, a table spoon of toothpaste, 2 table spoons of shampoo, bill me for the soap I used however you want, 3 minutes with your toothbrush, and, I'm guessing about 15 gallons of water. I'll try to shower by candle light to not run up the power bill, even though you are clearly NOT using the lights in your bathroom right now.

Please respond promptly, as I am hungry and in need of a shower. I don't know why you wouldn't since you are not using any of the things I asked to use/buy from you. You know you are really lucky to have a friend like me who asks to use your stuff before I do, even if it's pretty clear you are not using it. I honestly don't know why I tolerate you just letting all of the stuff you don't use sit around going all unused.

Oh, and just so you don't go hearing this from someone else, I used a couple of your bras as water balloon sling shots, and to sling shot horse feces at cars driving by on Iowa. I put your bras back where I found them when I was done, so you probably wouldn't have even noticed, but since I am such a great friend I thought I would tell you I used them, even though you weren't using them at the time, I mean they were just sitting there in a drawer. Seriously, why would you just leave undergarments sitting in a drawer, who does that?!?!? So, in regards to me telling you I borrowed something of yours (seriously, those bras were JUST SITTING THERE), uh your welcome. Seriously, if you get mad about this, you are just a stupid head. You really are lucky I put up with you.

Your best bud,
Joe

Week In Review

I could totally sit here and type out all that I did from last week because once again, I was too busy to check in. But it would simply wind up looking like it did last week. So instead I'll tell you the:
*
Top Five Good things that Happened to Me in the Last Week!
5. Found that working one day on then having school the next day is a great way to feel that the next day is a weekend, or a break at least.
4. Found out that I don't have to go to one of my classes everyday since it's not an attendence graded class.
3. The class from above is my 8am class.
2. Talked to an influential lady who is going to help get me a job come April!
1. It's over!
*
So there you have it. The Top Five Good things that Happened to Me in the Last Week. Feel special? I'm sure you do. To finish this post off I've decided to challenge all my devoted *cough* readers to take the quiz on my facebook that begs the question? How well do I know Tiffany- this is purely for my own enjoyment. There are two quizzes (Jen has already attempted one of these). The First is somewhat easy, the second... well good luck getting any percent right. So... OkayI think I'm going to go eat some more of the snickerdoodles that someone brought to the office. Have a great day! Over and out!
